Chargers win a thriller against CICC Titans , continue the winning streak!!
If ever any cricket fan who trusts in miracles happening on cricket field, this is the match to witness!! opting to bat first, chargers batted well with Amit Jain scoring another consecutive 50+ score. Great contributions from Amit Atrey (23) Ravi Darbha (24), Murthy (27) and Vaidy (21) helped team reach decent 171/6. Titans started chase aggressively trying to score runs quickly. Chargers pace attack Prabhu, Amit Atrey and great disciplined bowling spell from Ahan could able to put breaks but an off day for spinners except Amit Jain (phenomenal with ball as well taking 3 wickets for 14runs of 5 overs) resulted in a situation with Titans needing just 13 runs of last 8 overs with 4 wickets in hand. That’s when things leading to miracle started happening when Amit Jain bowled a wicket maiden over picking titans well set batter who was batting on 50. still needing 13 runs from 7 overs with 3wickets in hand, next over from Amit Atrey was when the miracle happened with Amit taking last 3 wickets in that over giving 0 runs. that was an over where opponent batters never got any clue of the Amit Atrey's bowling where he was swinging the old ball as if it was new. First two wickets were caught behind by WK with genuine edges and the last wicket was a plumb LBW with a ball that started swinging from outside leg stump and coming back to hit full on pads straight Infront of the wickets resulting in team celebrating fanatically jumping with joy all over the ground! What a win, a victory that even the opponents applauded for the fighting spirit each and every member of the charger’s team showed on the field!! Great win CCC Chargers!! CCC Chargers 171/6 beats CICC Titans 159/10 Chargers winning by 12 runs. Key contributors: MOM: Amit Jain (53 runs and 3 wickets), Amit Atrey (23 runs and 4 wickets) Good contributions: Ravi Darbha(24runs), Murthy(27runs) and Vaidy(21runs), Ahan (2wickets), Prabhu(1wicket)

CCC Strikers top order bounced out of SMG - Late heroics from Mit get Strikers to respectability
The Sunil Manohar Gavaskar (SMG) ground was picture perfect with a true pitch and excellent & fast outfield with velvet cushiony grass. CCC won the toss and elected to field, as it was a new pitch. Panthers were pleasantly surprised. Excellent start by the bowlers as Prassy draws first blood. JD struggles a little bit to get the swing and line right. Mit replaces JD and immediately impresses with well-directed short ones mixed in with accurate bowling – bowls a beautiful slower one to dismiss the other opener – Dhruv holding an excellent catch at gully. Aukshwant & Vishnu then slow down and consolidate to create an excellent launching pad for Panthers. – Sahaj and Ilyas tie down the batters with excellent line and length and bowl 10 stingy overs on the trot. Sakthi starts slows but accelerates with the help of Baliram. Spinners were brought in just when the Panthers were looking to accelerate. Strikers’ captain’s gamble to look for wickets fails and spinners go for a few expensive overs. JD comes back to dismiss Sakthi – a key wicket. Mit and Prassy come back to tie the batters down. Ferhan hits a few excellent boundaries to help Panthers raise 200 – a par score on that ground. Strikers start well with JD again producing an excellent start. It was Panther’s captain Laskhman’s show after that. He consistently extracts sharp bounce from the pitch to trouble the entire top order of CCC. Steep bounce with fast pace leaves the top order in disarray as Strikers collapse. Prassy and Sahaj play beautifully but unfortunately get out. Bharath tried to break shackles too early and gets out at a very bad time. Mit then counter attacks and boy was it fun! He creates some concern in the Panthers camp but wickets on the other end meant he was running out of support – in the end CCC fall short by 69 runs. Would have been a 100+ run defeat if not for Mit’s heroics. Bottom line: Catches were taken. Pace bowling is coming together. Spin shows promise. Some bright spots in the opening & late Middle order batting (JD, Prassy, Sahaj & Mit) meant Strikers can look to continue to improve and win the next games. Top order needs to hold on to the wickets for us to have any chance to win. Go CCC, Go Strikers!

CCC Strikers drop the ball, miss the catching bus
CCC won the toss and elected to field. New Emeralds pitch and cloud cover gave a great initial advantage, which the bowlers utilized to the full and took early wickets. After that, we dropped the ball literally 10 times (or may be more).Dropped catches, of which most are regulation, easy, comfortable catches that should never be dropped, meant PDCC kept scoring runs Rain intervened and due to the wet ball, spinners were not able grip the ball. Catches kept being dropped which helped PDCC score some quick runs to put up a competitive score. Their innings ended due to more rain and CCC were set a revised (D/L) target of 154 in 29.2 overs Super accurate bowling by PDCC meant powerplay overs were not expensive. Slow but steady start to the batting by Strikers meant we kept wickets in hand. But, starts did not get converted and wickets were thrown away. Batters did not convert starts and accelerate which put more pressure on middle order. Captain (I) take responsibility for batting order mix up. Sending Sajid ahead of youth payer (Ilyas) could have made the game closer. But the accuracy of PDCC bowling was the key difference. In the end we fell short. Bottom line: Players need to take responsibility for catches Top order needs to be commended for a positive, steady (a bit slow) start. But they need to convert and accelerate and take more risks as they settle down. Tactical error by the captain – batting order could have been different and made the game closer If we took catches, PDCC would have been all out by the time rain intervened & we would be chasing 100 - 120, & would have been an easy win. Let’s do better next time! Go Strikers!
